Where do I board the MTA bus at the airport?
The MTA bus stop is located on Level 1 at the airport within the Ground Transportation area. Make a right as you go out the facility's door and continue straight ahead until you see the Nashville MTA sign and our blue-and-white bus stop sign. For your convenience, we also post the Route 18 Airport/Downtown schedule at this location. If you have questions, airport personnel can direct you to the stop. There is an Airport Information Center and Customer Help Desk in the Baggage Claim area. MTA bus schedules and system maps are available.
How do I know which bus to catch at the downtown transit station for the trip to the airport?
The front and side destination signs will clearly read 18 Airport, 18 Elm Hill or 18 Airport Express. Express trips on Route 18 take about 20 minutes to reach the airport and local trips take 34 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. All Route 18 Airport/Downtown buses depart from Bay 13 at Music City Central.
How much is the fare?
You can pay your fare in cash when you board the bus. The fare box accepts $1, $5, $10 and $20. Cost is $1.70 each way for adults, $1 for youth ages 19 and younger, $.85 for seniors (ages 65 and older) and people with disabilities. Proof of age may be requested.

Where can I pick up or view the Route 18 Airport/Downtown schedule?
For your convenience, all bus schedules are available online at www.nashvillemta.org, at the Nashville Airport Information Center located on level 2 in the Baggage Claim area, the Ticketing and Information Center at Music City Central, Nashville Downtown Library, City Hall and at other transit displays around town.
Can your buses accommodate people using wheelchairs?
Yes, our entire fleet is ADA Accessible.
Does your service operate on all holidays?
On the following major holidays, MTA operates service on a Sunday/Holiday schedule:
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, MTA operates on a Saturday schedule.
Will the buses be able to store my luggage during the trip to Downtown?
Yes, self-service luggage racks are installed on most of the MTA buses that service the airport.
How can I get to other areas of town if my hotel is not Downtown?
For your convenience, Route 18 Airport/Downtown buses arrive at Music City Central early enough for you to connect with a number of other MTA buses. There is also a Customer Care Ticketing and Information window and other transit personnel who will be able to answer questions. If you need to connect to another bus, request a transfer when boarding. Transfers are good for two hours from the time of boarding. If you are planning to ride the MTA for several days while in town, you may want to purchase a 7-Day Pass or an All-Day Pass.
